Antony (Tony) Gerard Sweeney (25 September 1955) was born in Bradford, Yorkshire, England. He is an Australian citizen, now resident in the UK, who is best known for his ten-year period as director of the Australian Centre for the Moving Image. ==Early life==
Tony Sweeney was born in the North of England, the son of Austin Joseph Sweeney and Anne-Marie Gresham.〔 He attended St Bede's Grammar School (Bradford, UK), and the University of Southampton.
